Samsung maintains its lead over Apple in global smartphone shipment

April 29, 2015: Samsung with an estimated shipment of 83.2 million smartphone leads the global market with 24 percent marketshare. While Apple recorded 61.2 million iPhone sales with 17.7 percent marketshare scoring second worldwide.

Although, Apple improved it's share from 15.7% a year earlier and Samsung seen decline from 31% a year ago to ending up on 24% first quarter of this year.

Apple's overwhelming sale of their flagship model iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has made them gain a strong position against their arch-rivals, and Samsung trying to regain their lost ground with Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in this June quarter.
